BRUIN VARSITY LIFE
The fall quarter has gotten off to a great start. As expected, we saw an influx of student-athletes returning from the summer and into our Tuesday night fellowship meeting. We saw an average of 60 students come out for the first few weeks of the quarter which was exciting. It's encouraging to know that our presence is being felt around the athletic department. Our teaching this quarter has centered around the theme "Follow Me", which has focused on Jesus' invitation to follow him"on mission".

ANSWERED PRAYER
The Lord has graciously answered our prayers by providing a full-time female chaplain to help serve our women athletes on campus. Kate Miller, a former UCLA student-athlete who competed on the rowing team, recently graduated and is now serving on a one year internship through Athletes in Action. She has been quite a blessing to our ministry team and brings much zeal and creativity to the table. It has been amazing to see how much the Lord has used her thus far this school year.
TALBOT
My studies at Talbot seminary have been coming along nicely this semester. Once a week, I travel down to attend my two classes (pastoral counseling & biblical ethics), which I have really come to enjoy. These classes have both challenged, as well as, equipped me in becoming a more effective minister of the gospel of Jesus Christ. I am looking forward to continuing my studies next semester.
A NEW OPEN DOOR
In my last communication, I shared about the Man2Man ministry the Lord placed on my heart to start up on campus. This ministry targets male coaches, administrators, and other staff personnel within the UCLA Athletic department who desire to be encouraged and strengthened in their faith in Jesus Christ. Back in September & October, 4 guys decided to join me for this 6:30 Wednesday morning endeavor.
Now the Lord has opened up a new door by allowing me to serve our men's basketball coaching staff. For the past several weeks, I have been able to facilitate a coaches bible study with Head Coach, Steve Alford, along with the majority of his coaching staff. We have been studying through the Sermon on the Mount together and our times have been very rich and fruitful thus far. Please pray for this program, as these men really do desire to honor and serve the Lord through their coaching platform.
PRAYER & PRAISE
Lu, a recent graduate from the UCLA basketball team recently committed her life to Jesus Christ! Along with the encouragement from many others, Jenny has been faithfully investing in Lu's life over the past 2 years since she came to LA from Portugal. Soon, Lu will be leaving the country to play professional basketball. We praise God for the time we have had to invest in her life and believe the best is still to come for her.
WOMEN'S BASKETBALL OUTREACH
On December 5th, Jenny and I will be helping to provide leadership for a post game Faith & Family event. With the theme, "Strengthened in God", we are hoping for many people to stick around after the game to hear from a few coaches and student-athletes about their faith in Jesus Christ. Please pray for this event and for the right people to be there.
