TUESDAY NIGHT ATHLETE FELLOWSHIP
One of the many highlights from our time in college were the moments we regularly met with other student-athletes who were as passionate about growing in their faith as Jenny & I were. Even to this day, we hold such fond memories of all the relationships we established during those weekly bible studies and attribute much of our early spiritual development to those times on campus where we experienced such rich fellowship.
Throughout this school year, we have enjoyed getting to know a number of athletes through our Tuesday night Bruin Athlete Fellowship. On any given week, 25 to 30 athletes gather for 1 hour to connect, hear the Word of God, and engage in small group discussion. Our prayer has always been for God to send us, at least, one representative from each team, who we could then encourage, equip, and empower to go forth an impact their team for the Lord. For the most part, God is doing this and more. Next week, we are headed into the final 10 week stretch of the school year and anticipate the Lord continuing to bless our times together. We have experienced a great deal of synergy over the past couple months, even seeing the Lord send us a few athletes from nearby colleges who have been unable to find something similar on the campuses in which they attend.
TRACK & FIELD
One recent day on campus, I decided to head over to the track to watch practice. Shortly after my arrival, I was approached by one of the assistant coaches who asked if Jenny & I would be willing to come out one day to share about our ministry. Completely blown away by this unexpected request, I immediately accepted the invitation. Since this particular group of athletes included both males & females, it was a great chance for us to present together. The following week, Jenny and I were able to introduce ourselves to these athletes, share briefly about our athletic backgrounds, but more importantly, we were able to share about our faith in Christ and about our current ministry with athletes on campus. One of the blessings from this meeting has been the opportunity to meet, Abraham, a freshman sprinter, who is eager to grow in his relationship with the Lord. Abraham and I have started connecting one-on-one on campus and I look forward to continuing to spiritually invest in his life.
SAND VOLLEYBALL
The UCLA sand volleyball season is off and running. Since the beginning of January, Jenny has enjoyed training and coaching up the girls on the team. Even more, she has treasured the times she has been able to connect relationally with them. Working out and spending time together on road trips have aided in this process. Outside of her coaching responsibilities, Jen remains as committed as ever to spiritually mentoring female athletes. I have simply been amazed by her passion and desire to make herself available, to not only her athletes, but other athletes from different teams as well.

- In our previous update, we mentioned about the partnership Kevin is forming with two, Athletes in Action staff. He, Mike, & Andrew continue to meet weekly and have been working to complement one another in reaching out to different teams on campus. They are also in the process of making some necessary changes that we hope will help us be more effective on campus as we look towards the future. Please pray for wisdom as we consider the timing of some of these changes.
- Mom Jackie, (Kevin's mom) was finally released to go home on March 25th, after 4 months of rehabilitation following her brain surgery/stroke back in early November. In the midst of this, his 93 year old grandmother, (Jackie's mom), passed away on February 11th. Through all of this, mom Jackie has been holding up extremely well.
- Please pray for the logistics of a men's coaches fellowship Kevin is looking to start up soon. Two coaches have already said, "yes" to this time and we are trusting the Lord to use it as a "safe place" for them to connect relationally & grow as men of faith.
Thanks again for your friendship and support. Please let us know how we can be praying for you. May God bless you and your families this coming Easter season!
