INTRODUCING "BRUIN VARSITY LIFE"

BRUIN VARSITY LIFE

Over the past year or so, Jenny & I have chosen to partner with a couple of Athletes in Action staff members on campus to better serve the UCLA athletic department.  This collaborative effort has resulted in a rebranding of sorts, in that we have chosen to create a new name, mission statement, and core values for the athletic ministry on campus.  Though still in its early stages of transition, the new name, Bruin Varsity Life, has been catching on quite nicely among the athletes who have been involved in our weekly fellowship over the past few weeks.  We simply have been amazed by the turnout at these meetings and look forward to seeing many lives being impacted for eternity.

Our 2nd BVL meeting of the year brought some 50 student-athletes out to
hear how God, Life & Sport come together.

Presenting a message to the students-athletes.

A fun activity can go a long way in fostering community.

SAND VOLLEYBALL

Even though they won't start competing until the Spring, fall training has officially begun for the UCLA sand volleyball team.  With the addition of brand new sand courts on campus, the team is now able to train more frequently then last season.  For the past couple weeks, Jenny has been hard at work coaching and putting her girls through various training drills.  Before you know it, the season will be upon us.

UPCOMING MINISTRY OPPORTUNITIES

As the Lord leads you, please keep the following opportunities in prayer for us:
  • Leading various pre-game chapel services for UCLA teams over the next several weeks:  women's soccer, women's basketball, & football.
  • Speaking at Oaks Christian High school chapel (November 7).

FAMILY MOMENTS

Kory has been playing flag football for the past several weeks.  This is his 3rd season of playing and he continues to amaze us with what does when he gets his hands on the ball. (click link below)

Jaylen's 3rd season of club volleyball just started up this week.  Many of her teammates from last season are on her team again this year and so we are looking forward to reconnecting with all the other families.  Though the season is long and somewhat demanding, Jaylen really does enjoy playing the sport and is looking forward to what this season holds for her.

AS ALWAYS, THANK YOU FOR YOUR FRIENDSHIP & PARTNERSHIP.

PLEASE LET US KNOW HOW WE CAN BE PRAYING FOR YOU.

WE WOULD BE HONORED TO DO SO.
